Jason Spears · Your instructor
You've hit a dead end. Or two.
You mow, maybe take on some landscape projects, and you've built a good client base. But when you want to grow, the industry only gives you two answers.
Keep doing it all yourself
Mowing and landscaping are good, honest work, but your body can only do so much. As a solo operator, the income ceiling shows up fast.
Hire a crew
It's the "next logical step" everyone tells you about. More trucks, more payroll, more hiring and firing. And what if that's just not for you? It isn't for everyone.
Stay in the green industry. Raise your ceiling.
- No starting over. You're already in lawn care. This is the natural next step.
- Keep your clients. Transition the customers you've built from mowing and landscaping.
- Higher profit margins than mowing, on every stop.
- Run it solo. No crew to hire, fire, or replace.
Getting licensed is the easy part.
The license is just the start
Passing your state exam doesn't teach you how to build a program, pick the right products, or price for profit.
Killing weeds ≠ a great lawn
Plenty of guys can knock down a weed. Making a lawn flourish is what keeps customers and brings referrals.
Results take weeks
Mowing shows results in 30 minutes. With turf, you're trusting your knowledge, not your eyes, and mistakes show up late and cost you.
Knowledge is the business.
The Academy gives you the turf knowledge that turns a license into a profitable solo business, step by step.

Real lawns. Real system.Don't quit mowing cold turkey.
You don't have to throw away the business you've built. Jason calls it the two cups: you slowly pour your mowing customers into your turf business, one season at a time, until turf is the full cup. Inside the Academy, he walks you through exactly how he did it.

We only open enrollment
a few times a year.
Enrollment opens in late fall and early winter, and that's on purpose.
Spring is for working
Once the spring rush hits, there's no time to learn something new. You're too busy keeping up with calls and routes.
Winter is for planning
The slow season is when you step back, look at the year you just had, and decide what you want to do differently.
Spring is when you start
Learn the system and get licensed over the winter, so you start the season ready to offer turf care.
Best time to transition
The end of the year is the best time to make the move. That's why it's the only time we open the doors.
Real students. Real lawns.
“I've talked about adding weed control and fertilization to my business for the last 4 years! I've researched, watched YouTube, and just needed something else. I was so surprised to find someone willing to help me out. This course was the kick that I needed.

Good questions.
The things people ask before they join.
How will I know if Solo Turf Pro is right for me?+
It's built for solo operators who want to make more money without hiring employees, small mowing companies that want to train themselves or their crews in turf management, and anyone ready to move beyond low-profit mowing. If you're tired of guessing, Googling, and piecing together free information, and you want step-by-step guidance from someone who's built a real turf business, it's a fit.
Is the whole course available right away?+
Yes. You get access to the full course as soon as you join, with no waiting for modules to unlock. But there's a lot of information in here, and we don't recommend trying to get through it all at once. Start with Modules 1 and 2, then work through the rest one module at a time alongside our weekly live calls in the community, so you can implement as you go and bring your questions to Jason. Every call is recorded.
I'm not licensed yet. Should I join now or after?+
Now is a great time. The Academy walks you through the licensing process and what to expect, so you can prepare while you learn the rest of the system and be ready to go once your license comes through. Requirements vary by state, so check yours with the lookup tool on our Freebies & Shop page.
I'm not in Oklahoma. Will this work in my area?+
The business side of the Academy works anywhere: licensing, pricing, building a program, and keeping customers. Turf care itself depends on your grass types and climate, so bring your region-specific questions to the weekly live calls and Jason will help you think them through.
How long will I have access?+
Lifetime access. As long as the program is hosted on our platform, you can log in and revisit the material. If we ever move platforms or stop hosting the course, you'll receive full downloadable access so you can keep the training permanently.
What equipment do I need to get started?+
Coming soon. We'll share the details here when enrollment opens. Join the waitlist to hear first.
When does enrollment open?+
We only open enrollment a few times a year, mostly in late fall and early winter. That's on purpose: nobody has time to learn turf in the middle of the spring rush. The off-season is when you plan your next year, so it's the best time to learn the system, get licensed, and start spring ready to offer turf care. Join the waitlist to hear first when the doors open.
Can I keep mowing while I transition?+
Yes, and most people should. You don't have to start over with a new customer base. Many operators start by offering turf care to the clients they already mow and landscape for, then shift their business over time at a pace that works for them.
How much time do I need each week?+
Plan on time for one module plus the weekly live call. It's built to fit around a working lawn care schedule, and every call is recorded if you can't make it live.
Will I need a license or certification?+
Yes. Most states require a license to legally apply fertilizers and weed control products. The Academy explains the general process, what to expect, and how to prepare. You can also use the state license lookup on our Freebies & Shop page to find your state's official licensing page.
Isn't there a bunch of free information online?+
Yes, but most of it is incomplete, outdated, or not suited to your region. Turf care requires correct timing, chemical knowledge, mixing accuracy, and proper field application. Mistakes can kill lawns, lose clients, or violate local regulations. The Academy gives you the exact system Jason uses on real lawns, so you skip the trial and error.
How much does it cost? Are there payment plans?+
Coming soon. We'll share the details here when enrollment opens. Join the waitlist to hear first.
What's your refund policy?+
All sales are final. Because the Academy gives you immediate access to the full training, we don't offer refunds on the program or any of our training. Results also depend on a lot of variables outside our control, like your market, your effort, and your state's licensing. Not sure yet? Start with our free Turf Foundations mini course to see how Jason teaches before you join. And once you're in, you have lifetime access for as long as the course is hosted.
